Jaco Vorster started his career as an accountant at a small firm in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. There he helped build the accounting and audit practice, working closely with the Partners to develop service lines and grow the firm’s client base.

He moved to Australia in 2008 and joined BG Private as an auditor. After four years here, he moved temporarily to another respected firm before establishing his own audit practice. Ultimately that practice merged with BG Private in 2019, seeing Jaco return to us as a Partner of our Audit & Assurance division.

Jaco Vorster has almost 20 years’ audit experience and has become highly regarded in the field. He works closely with clients in a broad range of industries.

He builds strong working relationships to provide efficient and effective assurance solutions that add value to each client’s business while ensuring that compliance obligations are met.

Jaco prides himself on creating a deep understanding of each client’s business and keeping close contact with them throughout the year. This means clients feel more comfortable in turning to him with any queries or challenges that arise outside the annual audit periods. In this way, Jaco has more detailed insight into each client’s business, resulting in more practical and tailored advice.

Jaco loves the outdoors and you’ll often finding him camping and four-wheel driving with his family or spending several weeks bush camping in Tasmania. Jaco also loves his sport — with a particular focus on Rugby Union. He’ll watch any game but gets particularly worked up when the Springboks play.

He is involved in his community as the Treasurer and Secretary of the BNI Foundation and the Treasurer of the Mordialloc Cricket Club.
