Analyst – Corporate Finance and Private Equity

Location: Hawthorn, Victoria

We are currently seeking to recruit an Analyst for our Corporate Finance and Private Equity division. You will report to the Head of Corporate Finance and Private Equity and work with Banks Group’s Partners and staff on the delivery and execution of investments to prospective stakeholders and also providing detailed analysis and research to clients on their corporate matters.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Thorough and detailed research analysis
  • Developing an investment thesis
  • Building financial models
  • Preparation of investment committee memorandums
  • Preparation of client decks
  • Development of the presentations on corporate finance and private equity matters

The successful candidate will have:

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in the industry (ideally transactional M&A experience)
  • Sound investment, financial and corporate finance knowledge
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications, ie commerce, law, economics, finance or MBA
  • High level of numerical competence
  • Experience with financial modelling
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Thorough and detailed research

Intermediate Accountant

We are looking to recruit an Intermediate Accountant to join our team.

You will be involved in tax compliance and business consultancy, with a client base that spans a variety of industries.  You will be given the scope to work on diverse and complex jobs to further develop your tax and business advisory skills.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Tax returns for companies, trusts, individuals and sole traders
  • FBT returns
  • BAS/IAS Returns
  • Cash flow budget forecasts
  • Preparation of annual financial statements for tax planning
  • MYOB/QuickBooks/Xero Accounts Reconciliation Journals
  • Budgeting
  • Assisting with training of the Graduate Accountants
  • Work paper/journal preparation

We have a strong focus on training and professional development to ensure your career objectives are consistently met.  Ideally, you will have completed or completing your CA or CPA and have worked in a similar or larger Australian firm.  Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic and confident professional manner.
