As of 20 April 2020, eligible businesses who satisfy / expect to satisfy the reduction in turnover test for the month of March 2020, April 2020 or the June 2020 quarter were able to start enrolling for JobKeeper payments for the fortnights ending 12 April 2020 and 26 April 2020.
Below is a link to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) with instructions for enrolling:
www.ato.gov.au/General/JobKeeper-Payment/JobKeeper-guides
The ATO has advised that businesses seeking JobKeeper payments for the first two fortnights of April 2020 are required to enrol by 30 April 2020 through the business portal on MyGov or via their tax agent. If you wish to enrol for JobKeeper but do not have access to the business portal, please contact us and we can assist with your enrolment.
After enrolment occurs, the next step will be to get eligible employees to sign JobKeeper employee nominations and to get eligible business participants (excluding sole traders) to sign JobKeeper eligible business participant nominations. Thereafter, the business will be eligible to register their eligible employees using the business portal on MyGov (this can be done from 4 May 2020 and needs to be completed by the end of May 2020) or through your JobKeeper enabled STP accounting software (this can be done immediately by following the instructions released by your specific accounting software supplier).
If you want any further assistance with JobKeeper enrolment, please do not hesitate to contact your client service contact at Banks Group.
